Whatever interior project you are embarking upon, getting a little insider knowhow is always useful. We demand so much from our homes these days and if getting it right is daunting, getting it wrong can be expensive. Successful rooms tread the fine line between being a formal entertaining space and a relaxing family home. They need to be multifunctional and able to adapt to changing needs of family life. Most of us learn through trial and (sadly) error, so I hope the tips learnt through my years as a designer will help you steer clear of some of the pitfalls, impossible to avoid them all though, trust me, I know!
